Passersby

About

KATIEE’s debut on Selfish Agenda, recasts the expansive clang and clatter of Katie Eastburn's musical past. Previously as vocalist, percussionist and songwriter for the Los Angeles-based experimental trio Young People, Eastburn has released records for 5RC, Too Pure and Dim Mak. She has also released the DVD “Starter Set: New Dance and Music for the Camera,” for Kill Rock Stars, which she scored and choreographed.

With "Passersby," KATIEE makes songs that slink and slither, sparkle and shake. Songs that subtly groove―the minimal radiance of Terry Riley meets the Quiet Storm of Teddy Riley. Contemporary torch songs born at the intersection of intellect and instinct, delivering a mysterious smolder. They are sharp, noir-hued gems that evoke the intimacy of a piano bar, propelled by futuristic dance floor beats.
